He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Wesley and Eula Griffin Matthews; his wife Bobbie Turner Matthews; and his brother Freddie Matthews. He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Sue Ann Wall (Buddy) of Austin, Angie Vasconcellos (Nuno) of Ocean Springs and Pam Braddock (Darrell) of Bay Springs; his sisters, Carolyn Hood of Greenville and Mary Lynn Teague of Vicksburg; his niece Regina Hood Russell; and his nephews, Bill Hood, Mike Hood, Jonathan Matthews and Jeremiah Matthews. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
