She was predeceased by: her parents, Doyce Oakland Welch and Annie Mae Ferguson Welch; her siblings, John, Bobby, Gerald, Darvin, Frances, Laverne and Sybil; and her son-in-law David Smith, Sr..
She is survived by: her husband James Mitchell of Indianola; her children, James Mitchell, II (Rhonda) of Corinth, David Mitchell (Angie) of Carthage and Karen Smith of Indianola; her brothers, Jimmy Welch of Leland and Michael Welch of Arkansas; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Mitchell, Jon-Hunter Smith, Mitch Mitchell, David Smith, Jr., Brandy West, Heather Allen, Luke Pierce, Emily Keen and Nate Keen; her sister-in-law Vickie Welch; and her pet Chloe. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
