With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Roberts of Indianola, Mississippi, born in Moorhead, Mississippi, who passed away on October 8, 2021 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Mae and Rittie Mae; his wife Ann; and his brothers, Roscoe, Ed and Charlie.

He is survived by: his sons, Roscoe Matthew and Rittie Mae Roberts; his former wife Bonita Mullen; his daughters, Angela Dowell (Wade) of Indianola and Anita Paxton (Jim) of Isola; his grandchildren, Matt Dowell (Kimberly) of Indianola, Britt Dowell (Shelby) of Madison, Chad Dowell (Kelsey) of Indianola, Georgeana Nieuwoudt (Yvan) of South Africa, Will Paxton of Isola and Justin Paxton of Isola; his stepsons, Sam Scruggs (Kim) of Suwanee and Dave Scruggs (Fredrika) of Roswell Georgia; his brother Douglas Roberts (Gloria) of Moorhead; his sister-in-law Carolyn Roberts; and his great grandchildren, Hunter, Rowan, Oliver and Stella. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“I will miss David. He was such a special person. He was gentle, kind and a real Southern Gentleman. I haven’t seen him in along time but I will miss our frequent talks on the phone. We never had a conversation in which he didn’t mention some member(s) of his family. He was so interested in so many things and was a superb conversationalist. He loved the Lord and is with Him now, standing tall and straight, and maybe has a full head of hair !! See you later, my Friend.,”
