He was predeceased by: his wife Edith Yazel Clanton; his parents, John Clanton and Blanche Clanton; his sister Johnnie Lynn Pope; and his grandson Jim Cooke.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ilene Cooke of Independence, MS and Janet Bevis of Winona, MS; his close friend Shirley Linville; his siblings, Barbara Franklin (Harrell) of Senatobia, MS and Don Clanton (Shirley) of Senatobia, MS; and his grandsons, David Cooke, Nathan Bevis and Michael Bevis. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
