He was predeceased by: his parents, Searcy Maise and Nina Ferguson; and his brother Vinon Lee Ferguson. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Gay Ferguson of Independence, MS; his children, Linda Townsend (Luther) of Independence, MS, Paula Ferguson of Independence, MS and Ed Ferguson (Joel) of Senatobia, MS; his grandchildren, Clint Townsend (Leah), Lee Ferguson (Kim), Carla Townsend, Lindsey Riddell (Reid), Cadie Jefferies (Brandon), Seth Wooten, Caleb Townsend and Ashley Joslin (Drew); and his great grandchildren, Georgia, Gabe, Lucas, Grant, Judah, Ruby, Ruth and Archie.

Memorials may be sent to Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund or the Alzheimer's Association.
