He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty Joyce Jones Ward of Hohenlinden; his children, Paula Tilghman (Ronnie) of Grenada and Melvin Lewis Ward (Brenda) of Pontotoc; and his grandchildren, Shanna Gaskin, Dana Hooks, Amy Parker, Jesse Ward, Garret Cresswell and Dusty Ward. He was also cherished by six great grandchildren and five sisters.
