She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Barnett and Emmie Gibson Barnett; her husband Mervin Pettit; her sons, Calvin and Billy; and her siblings, Verna Dees, Pearlie Higginbotham, Mavis Collums and Adrean Barnett.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Pettit of Houston, Brenda Tunnell (Lamar) of Houston and Reba Martin of Houston; her brother Harvey Barnett of Houston; and her grandchildren, Michael Pettit, Misty Soden, Ronnie Tunnell, Angie Earp and Kevin Tunnell. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
