He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. "Hazel" Owings and Elloise Medley Owings; his brothers, Bill Owings and Eddie Ray; his stepfather William "Charlie" Bishop; and his great-niece Avery Gordon.
He is survived by: his children, Brock Owings (Joni) of Houlka and Morgan Owings of Guntown; his grandchildren, Jakub Hines, Madison Moore (Avery) and Jessie Hall; and his sister Betty Hall of Clinton, MS. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
