He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Cheney and Betty Weeks Cheney; his sons, Randy Cheney and Michael Cheney; his siblings, Betty Gail Bramlett and Tommy Cheney; and his son-in-law Scott Pulley.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Cheney of Houlka; his children, Glenn Cheney (Michelle) of Pontotoc and Lisa Pulley of Houlka; and his sister Martha Talley of Walnut, MS. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
