He was predeceased by: his former wife Linda Carpenter Helms; and his parents, Steve Helms and Geraldine Talley Helms. He is survived by: his wife Linda Morris Helms of Horn Lake, MS; his daughters, Vicky Helms of Holly Springs, MS, Danette Lofton (Gary) of Olive Branch, MS, Vickie Kane (Justin) of Mankato, MN and Christy Mitchell of Hernando, MS; his siblings, Jimmy "Buddy" Helms (Jessie) of Nesbit, MS, Bonnie Pleasant of Garland, TX and Carol Dickinson-Russell (Tommy) of Germantown, TN; his grandchildren, Candace Helms, Jamie Lofton, Abby Lofton, Thomas Ethan Kane, Jacob Kane, Emily Kane, Noah Kane, Natalie Kane, Maggie Kane, Lauren Mitchell, Thomas Mitchell and Addison Mitchell; and also Kelly Patrick of Garland, TX. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
