She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Buckley Cowart and Eva Lenmore Nielsen Cowart; her siblings, James Cowart, Jerry Cowart, Billy Cowart and Patsy Cowart; and her husband J. L. Pitman, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Tom Pitman of Memphis, TN, Rita Pitman Vogt of Horn Lake, MS and Kenny Pitman (Patti) of Brentwood, TN; and her sister Barbara Newton (Jack) of Metairie. She is also survived by five grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
