He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Lee Massey and Loree Yarbrough Massey. He is survived by: his wife Jewell Lorena Ledford Massey of Holcomb; and his children, Priscilla Kay Massey Watkins of Walls and Thomas Edward Massey, Jr. of Holcomb. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church, the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
