We bid farewell to Samuel Thomas Weir Sr. of Hickory, Mississippi, born in Newton, Mississippi, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 24, 2024 at the age of 80. Samuel Thomas touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Jenkins Weir and Henry Selby Weir; his wife Darlene Cochran Weir; and his siblings, Selby Weir, Jr. and Sandra Weir O'Neill.

He is survived by: his former wife Linda Kirby of Flowood, MS; and his children, Anna Brand (Walter) of Flowood, MS, Sam Weir, Jr. (Karla) of Brandon, MS, Carrie Spears (Jonathan) of Decatur, AL, Elon Espey (Keith) of Chunky, MS and Dawn Cavenaugh (Adrian) of Brandon, MS. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Hickory Baptist Church (197 Jackson St, Hickory, MS 39332). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hickory Baptist Church's Lottie Moon Christmas Fund, Hickory MS.
