He was predeceased by: his parents, W. H. Brand and Della Brand; and his siblings, W. T. Brand Sr., James Brand, Jewell Brand Harrison, Mabel Brand Guyse, Maurene Brand Harris, Nila Brand, Dell Brand Carr and Libby Brand Freeman.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jewel Brand of Hickory; his son John M. Brand (Gina) of Hickory; and his granddaughters, Rachel Brand and Anna Brand of Hickory.
