He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Stroud and Clara Stroud; his siblings, Versie Stroud, Bertie Townsend (Freeman), Lessie Griffith (Burris), Beatrice Straughan (Howard) and Earl Stroud (Gladys); his wife Hazel Cupit Stroud; and his siblings-in-law, Lorraine Geary (Robert), Betty Evans (Ray), Joanne Goodman (Jimmy), John Rundell, Ray Evans and Melvin Oswalt.
He is survived by: his sons, Robin (Cathy) and Randy (Gloria); his grandchildren, Lacey Childress (William), Joel Stroud and Shannon Brister (William); his great grandchildren, William, Manny Childress, Thomas, Will Major Brister and Zayne Iglesias; his siblings-in-law, Glennie Oswalt, Dorothy Rundell and Rev. Jimmy Goodman; and his friend Richard "Bud" Gauldin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Grace Baptist Church.
