He is survived by: his wife Barbara Sowell Hitt; his sons, Gene, Jr. (Heidi) of Hernando and Greg (Julie) of Memphis; his grandchildren, Greg Hitt Jr., Grayson Hitt of Memphis, Ann-Marie Perkins (Brian) of Hernando, Ashlee Williams (David) of Hernando, Alyssa Hitt of Hernando and Rin Hitt of Hernando; and his great grandchildren, Knox, Nash Perkins, Cooper and Jayce Williams.
