He was predeceased by: his parents, Redmond Thornell and Christine Thornell; his sons, Mark and Timothy Thornell; and his grandson Brandon Thornell.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Thornell; his sons, Ray and Mike Thornell (Alicia); his sister Sylvia Corban (Al); his grandchildren, Kimberly Thornell (Billy Dossett), Ryan Thornell (Whitley), Kaitlyn Thornell, Timothy Thornell and Mati Bond; and his great grandchildren, Ethan Pogue and Charlie Pogue.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be sent to the American Heart Association.
