He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Poppenheimer and Inez Poppenheimer (Wilson); his wife Barbara Neeley Poppenheimer; his brother Lester "Snook" Poppenheimer; his son Brian Crow; and his grandson Paul Joseph Carroll.
He is survived by: his pets, Audrey and Kiki; his daughters, Carolyn Mears (Harold), Beth Carroll, Patty Caligaris (Tony) and Jill Johnson (Mike); his grandchildren, Colton Mears, Jennifer Burnell, Jessica Kidd (Murphy), Sherri McKinney (Shawn), Kelley, John Carroll (Samantha), Alyssa, Nic Caligaris, Quinn, Caden, Kyan, Callie and Carys Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Eli, Mabry, June, Max, Tempy, Seth, Walker and Weston. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, and friends.
