It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Grace Byars of Hernando, Mississippi, born in Derma, Mississippi, who passed away on February 28, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Molly Susie Rhodes Hardin; her husband William "Bill" Strain Byars; her father Henry Hartwell Hardin; and her daughter Martha Byars Crumby. She is survived by: her children, Major "Bill" Jr. Byars (Linda) of Columbus, MS and Betty Jane Smith (Robert) of Hernando, MS; her grandchildren, Robert Lewis Smith III, Melinda Byars Meyer, Lisa Byars Schleder and Tara Rose Greenwood (Joel); and her friends, Libby, Mary, Jo and Sybil. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
