She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Walton Hicks and Gladys Burnett Hicks; her brother Clyde Walton Hicks, Jr.; and her grandsons, Jonathan R. Leamon and Caleb R. Dowdy.
She is survived by: her husband William D. Gatewood; her children, Karen Leamon (Charles), Chuck Gatewood (Cathy), Harold Gatewood, Bill Gatewood and Teresa Gatewood Thomley (Paul); her grandchildren, Rachael Leamon, Marsha Brewer, Rena Wilson, Maisie Dowdy, Ashley Gatewood, Brandon Gatewood, Christopher Thomley, Richard Travis Thomley and Kimberly Thomley; her great grandchildren, Jeremy Robledo, Adam Robledo, Jaxon Gatewood, Marshall Thomley, Camryn Thomley, Baby Brewer and Baby Thomley; and her brother Bobby J. Hicks.
