He was predeceased by: his parents, James David and Jessie Mae Armstrong Gandy; his wife Fay Carraway Gandy; his daughter Linda Gandy Pell; and his siblings, C. A. Gandy, Denver Gandy, Robert Gandy, Lee Van Gandy, Luke Gandy, John Gandy, Walter Gandy, Marion Gandy and Linnie Mae Shirley.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Gandy of Hazlehurst, Dwayne Gandy (Kay-Kay Gandy), Sherry King (Robert King) and Tammy Caruthers (Stephen) of Madison; his son-in-law Hal Pell of Hazlehurst; and his sister Minnie Meadows of Jacksonville, Florida.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
