He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland R. Newell and Juanita Middleton Newell Nations; and his wife Ann Russell Newell. He is survived by: his children, Cathy Wuerzer (Ray) of Mt. Hermon, LA, Sarah Cole (Carl) of Flowery Branch, GA and Fred Newell (Stacey) of Byram; and his granddaughters, Ashley McClure (Kyle) of Hoschton, GA, Katie Latimer (Sam) of Flowery Branch, GA, Anna Martin (Bryan) of Slidell, LA and Kaitlyn Newell of Byram. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the First Baptist Church (151 Caldwell Dr, Hazlehurst, MS 39083). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at the Hazlehurst Cemetery.
