He was predeceased by: his former wife Jean Gayle Narro Broome; his parents, Clyde Broome and Mildred Broome; his brother Lee Ellis Broome; and his stepdaughter Kim Harlan.
He is survived by: his wife Tommie Sims Harlan Broome; his son David Broome of Hattiesburg; his stepson Jeff Harlan of Lafayette; his daughters-in-law, Charlene Bell Broome and Elizabeth Melancon Harlan; his grandchildren, Ashley Harlan Lummen (Bryan), Hannah Jean Broome Peterman (George), Rachel Broome, Grace Harlan, Bryan Broome and Kate Harlan; and his great grandchild Josie Louise Lummen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Transportation Fund, Clinton, Mississippi.
