He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Elijah Kirkland and Sarah Delilah White; and his sister Shirley Ann Bryant. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Joann Harding Kirkland; his sister Sara Jo Robbins; his children, Benjamin Kirkland (Kristen), Joseph Kirkland, Thomas Kirkland (Caroline) and Tabitha Shannon (Jeff); his grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah, Alex (Rebecca), Lydia, Keegan, Andrew, Deborah, Ava, Josiah and Ella; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn, Emily and Megan.
