He was predeceased by: his wife Bonnie Sue Dawson; his parents, Winnie Alexander Dawson and Lillie Mae Dawson of Magnolia, MS; and his siblings, Howard Baker Dawson of Petal, MS. and Dorothy Louise Dawson of Magnolia, MS..
He is survived by: his children, Wayne Dawson, Jr. (Cynthia Dawson), Robert Dawson (Tammy Dawson), Michael Dawson (Barbara Dawson), Joseph Dawson and Michelle Fish (Jeremiah Fish); and his grandchildren, Kelli Dawson, Zachary Dawson, Laura-Catherine Dawson and Alexandra Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Hattiesburg.
