He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Sylvester and Alma Sylvester; his wife Arva Etta Sylvester; and his siblings, Jean Freeman, Braddis Sylvester, Bruce Sylvester and Riley Sylvester.
He is survived by: his son Michael Sylvester of Hattiesburg; his grandson David Sylvester (Jessie) of Hattiesburg; his great grandchildren, Brittney, Hunter, Jacob and Allie; his sister Reba Ferguson of Ocean Springs; and his brother-in-law Rev. Bob Burge of Hattiesburg. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
