He is survived by: his wife Faye Matheny of Hattiesburg; his children, Chris Matheny (Khristi) of Hattiesburg and Stephanie Matheny of Purvis; his sister Peggy Toney of Prentiss; his grandchildren, Lauren Matheny, John Michael Smith, Cody Walker, Jacob Smith, Kaitlyn Matheny and Caden Matheny; his great grandchildren, Riley Smith, Christopher Matheny and Victoria Creel; and his cousins, Eva Lois Long, Margaret Bounds and Faye Gipson. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews.
