Robert Wayne Slay Jr. Obituary

Services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Rob Slay, 86, of Hattiesburg, MS, who passed away Friday, May 24, 2024.

Interment will be in Roseland Park CemeteryHe was born January 4, 1938, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Rob was a graduate of Hattiesburg High School and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he received his bachelor of science degree. He was a member and officer of Kappa Alpha and was president of Pi Sigma Epsilon.

Rob was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He had a distinguished career with Aetna Life and Casualty, holding many upper management positions during his 34-year tenure. He concluded his professional journey with Morgan Keegan Stock Brokerage Company, where he held the title of Senior Vice President.

He received the "Outstanding Young Men of America" award and was president of Southern Mississippi's Hinds County Chapter Alumni Association. Rob was a charter member of Parkway Heights United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Sandra Louise Slay of Houston, Texas, his daughter, Lisa Conn of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and his son, Scot Slay of Madison, Mississippi.
