He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Evans and Lessie Mae Evans. He is survived by: his wife Theresa Evans; his daughters, Deidre Evans-Boykins (LaTron Boykins), Angela McGrew and Teria Bly; and his siblings, Jerry Evans (Marion), Willie Evans, Jeannie Sargent (Kerry) and Gwendolyn Evans. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
