She was predeceased by: her parents, Queen Smith and William E. Smith; and her daughters, Sonia White Hines and Tina Van White Meter. She is survived by: her husband James H. Gardner of Hattiesburg; her children, Michael Smith of Tampa, Florida and Frankie White (Precious) of Hattiesburg, MS; and her siblings, Shirley Smith, Joann Smith, Adleasia Cameron (Willie), Barbara Ann Esters, Patricia Bouie (Demetris), Diane Rembert Smith, Irene Macklin (Albert), William E. Smith (Margaret), John Smith, Pat Smith (Catherine), Ellerton Smith and Robert L. Smith (Linda). She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Forrest Funeral Home (1258 Richburg Rd, Hattiesburg, MS 39402). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
