He was predeceased by: his parents, Odis James, Sr. and Gladys James; his siblings, Johnny Ray Culpepper, Aubrey Wayne Evans and Martha Faye Clark; and his brother-in-law Robert Clark, Sr..
He is survived by: his children, Octavia "Lynn" James of Hattiesburg and Craig Smith of Texas; his grandchildren, Lonnie Lankford, Jr., Kanoa Lankford, Harmony Lankford and Ayla Lankford; and his cousins, Cassandra Clark (William) of Moselle and Robert Clark, Jr. of Moselle.
