It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nita Broome Sims (Hattiesburg, Mississippi), who passed away on October 19, 2019, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her son Stephan Ray Haddox; her parents, Ottis Broome and Edna Broome; and her siblings, DeLois Haddox, Reece Broome and Darrell Broome.
She is survived by: her husband Harold Sims of Hattiesburg; her daughters, Donna Haddox Graham (Austin) of Anchorage, AK and Kathy Haddox Bond (Rickey) of Sumrall; her stepsons, Elton Sims (Stephanie) of Madison and Allen Sims (Karen) of Purvis; her siblings, Joyce Prine of Columbia, Dot Peltier (Johnny) of Angie, LA, Brenda Gipson (Don) of Sumrall, Kermit Broome (Duthel) of Sumrall, Kenneth Broome (Debbie) and Davy Broome of Sumrall; her sisters-in-law, Jimmie Sue Broome of Mountain View, AR, Melanie Broome of Mountain View, AR and Linda Broome of Sumrall; and her grandchildren, Krista James (Andrew), Kelly Lott (Hawke), Kambry Speed (Mark), Christy Nielson (Matt), Austin Sims (Kelsey), Katie Sims and Cody Sims. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
