He was predeceased by: his father Rev. Bobby Shands. He is survived by: his mother Fern Shands of Hattiesburg; his children, Jessica Shands of Hattiesburg and Joshua Shands (Kortney) of Hattiesburg; his grandchildren, Jayden Shands, Josie Shands and Adeline Shands; his sisters, Bonnie Shands of Hattiesburg and Melodie Shands of Hattiesburg; and his niece Christie Thompson (Jonathan) of Seminary.
A memorial service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Hattiesburg Chapel (805 Hardy St, Hattiesburg, MS 39401). The inurnment was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at the Roseland Park Cemetery (1202 W 7th St, Hattiesburg, MS 39401).
