He was predeceased by: his wife Marieta Strickland; and his parents, Jesse Strickland and Bertha Strickland. He is survived by: his sons, Travis Thornton (Kattie) of Sanford, Joey Thornton (Linda) of Sanford and Johnathan Strickland (Carlie Frey) of Columbia; and his siblings, Jesse Mitchell Strickland (Debbie) of McHenry, Carolyn Strickland of McHenry and Joyce Strickland of McHenry. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
