He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his children, Melinda Gratwick (John) of Hattiesburg, Morgan McCarty (Angela) of Hattiesburg and Jeanne McCarty (Jason Hewitt) of Washington, DC.; and his grandchildren, Jack, Mary Morgan, Maggie Gratwick, Kent, Kirk (Erica), Graham, Callie Anne McCarty and Will Hewitt. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
