He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Elmo, Sr. and Clara Loveless Harless; his son-in-law Matt Owen; and his in-law Betty Smith. He is survived by: his wife Karen Smith Harless; his children, Jennifer Owen, John Harless (Lauren) and Justin Harless (Shelly); his grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Anna Claire Owen, Laney, Ava Grace and Jaden Harless; and his brother Dr. Stephen Harless (Sherry). He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Glendale (2311 Glendale Ave, Hattiesburg, MS 39401). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Glendale or Legends 37 Youth Rodeo Scholarship Fund.
