He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walter McArthur, Sr. and Neville Dean Ethridge McArthur of Hattiesburg; and his sister Lia McArthur Stafford of Covington County. He is survived by: his wife Christy Fokakis McArthur; his brother Barry Neville McArthur (Peggy); his children, Leigh McArthur Canoy (Chris), Katherine McArthur Marr (Aaron) and John Walter McArthur, III (Sara); his stepsons, Tyler Royals (Jordan) and Alex Royals; and his grandchildren, Lucy Katherine McArthur, James McArthur Marr, John Moss Marr, Samuel Tillman Canoy, Annie Reid McArthur, Emileigh Grace Canoy, Adeline Victoria Royals and Sophia Marquis Royals. He is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home (205 Bay St, Hattiesburg, MS 39401). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the Family requests a donation to Main Street United Methodist Church where his family has been involved in the United Methodist denomination for over 100 years and many generations to follow.
