He was predeceased by: his wife Melba Jean Gayle; his son Jerry Lance Gayle; and his brother Charles Larry Gayle. He is survived by: his son Kirk Gayle (Stephanie) of Columbus; his granddaughters, Carrie Leggett (Daniel) of Columbus and Raven Hays (John) of Columbus; his great grandchild Pryor Hays of Columbus; and his niece Donishia Turner (Danny) of Arkansas.
