We are sad to announce that on February 7, 2024, at the age of 68, Jan O'Bryan Nelson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Nell Chain and James F. O'Bryan; and her grandparents, Grace Sellers "Moo" Chain and Zollie Lee. She is survived by: her children, Martha Graham O'Bryan and Hubert Clyde O'Bryan; her husband John Clayton Nelson, Sr.; her children, Chloe Leigh Nelson of Hattiesburg and John Clayton Nelson, Jr. of Hattiesburg; her sisters, Grace Patrice "Patti" O'Bryan-Samara of Boca Raton and Jill O'Bryan Gunn of Pensacola, Florida; and her pets, Zoe and Decker.

Jan was a lover of all animals, and we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hattiesburg Zoo.
