He was predeceased by: his father Samuel H. Tisdale, Jr.; his brother-in-law Col. Alan Mirrielees; and his parents-in-law, Franklin and Geraldine "Geri" Davis. He is survived by: his wife Sheri Tisdale of Hattiesburg; his sons, Jameson Tisdale of Hattiesburg and Jonathan Davis of Hattiesburg; his mother Alice Tisdale of Hattiesburg; and his siblings, John, Amanda Mirrielees of Rapid City, S. D. and Sharron Taylor (Clay) of Hattiesburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Team Gleason Foundation, to support ALS research.
