It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ida Oleta Downing of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, who passed away on June 29, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Glenwood Downing; her parents, William Kersh and Lula Kersh; and her brother J. P. Kersh. She is survived by: her sons, Charles Downing (Sue) of Hattiesburg and John Downing (Carol) of Hattiesburg; her grandchildren, Sheri Sorrells of Hattiesburg, Jason Downing of Independence, MO, Jeff Downing (Allison) of Hattiesburg, Amy Champagne of Madison, MS and Tripp Lewis of Cypress, TX; her niece Johnnie Ruth Hendricks; and her nephew Steve Kersh. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be directed to Homes of Hope for Children.
