He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Frank E. Dement, Jr. and Mamie Brothers Dement; his parents-in-law, Howard and Josephine Roberts; and his brother-in-law John Carmichael.
He is survived by: his wife Maxine Dement of Hattiesburg; his children, James Dement (Sandy) of Brandon and Michelle Williams (Pete) of Wiggins; his sister Emmie Jean Carmichael of Brandon; and his granddaughters, Cameron Maloney (Cole), Kaylan Tanner (Gavin), Ashley Williams and Carey Williams.
