We are sad to announce that on April 22, 2023, at the age of 100, Ella Mae Kling of Hattiesburg, Mississippi passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ella Mae Kling to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George B. Booker and Hattie Mae Booker (Burkhalter); her husband Benedict J. Kling (Ben); her stepson William Joseph Kling (Billy); her sons-in-law, Dex Johnson and Ray DuBose, Sr.; and her siblings, Vera Burkhalter Anderson and George Melvin Booker.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Pat Kling; her children, Gail Kling DuBose, Rosi Kling Johnson and Bobby Kling (Pat Phillips); her close friends, Melinda Roberts, Becky Richardson (Jimmy Lynn) and Purvis; and her grandchildren, Ray DuBose, Jr., Kirk DuBose (Britton West), Chris DuBose (Chandra) of Cleveland, TN, Ashley Johnson Corey (Bubba), Ben Kling (Laci Burris) of Ponchatoula, LA and Phillips Kling (Lauren Steele) of Huntsville, AL. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
She was a very active and devoted member for 72 years, until the Covid Pandemic, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and a member of the JOY Club where she held every office as well as social and decorating chairman.
