He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Monroe and Mary Thetus Smith; his child Lil Buddy; his wife JoAnn Smith of Wiggins; his children, Beverly Snyder of McComb, Claude and Smith, Jr. of Wiggins; and his sisters, Sue Compton of Saucier, Wynette Patton of Batesville and Peggy Rickles of Batesville. He was also cherished by ten grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
