It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Bernard Blount Sr. of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, who passed away on January 20, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Buckalew Blount; his mother Newton B. Blount; his brother Buford Blount of Hattiesburg; and his granddaughter Kelley Ann Blount of Gulfport. He is survived by: his sister Mary Lewis of Dallas; his sons, Charles Bernard "Chuck" Blount Jr. (Jo Ann) of Gulfport and Newton Buford "Tudor" Blount (Denise) of Columbia; his grandchildren, Katherine Blount Alexander (Darren) of Hattiesburg, Elizabeth Blount Wise (James), Charles Bernard Blount, William Charles Blount (Rachel) of Madison and Emily Blount Noland (Ryan) of New Orleans; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Lucy, Luke Alexander, Clark, William, Reid Wise, Grace, Charles Bernard Blount, Hayden, Scarlett Blount, Ivy and Archie Noland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid, there will be a private family graveside service to celebrate Mr. Blount's life on Friday, February 19, 2021.
