She was predeceased by: her father Emmitt E. Smith; her husband D. J. "Mart" Sandifer; her siblings, Heidle J. Smith, Orville Smith and Lemoyne Smith Graham; and her sisters-in-law, Juanice Smith Peden and Juda Brister.
She is survived by: her sons, Gregory (Paula Thrash), Kevin (Suzanne Thrash) and Richard (Paula Thrash); her granddaughters, Natalie Hollingsworth (Patrick) and Cara Dufrene; her great grandchildren, Adalyn Hollingsworth, Helena Dufrene, Claire Dufrene and James Dufrene; and her stepchildren, Mickey Sandifer (Joyce) and Sandra Gunn (Frank). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
