He was predeceased by: his parents, James Earl (Dan) and Oneta Teague Boone; his brother David Earl Boone; and his uncle Bobby Jack Simpson. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Joyce Boone; his children, Chris Boone (Katherine) of Hattiesburg, MS and Cindy Hill (Brian) of Pope, MS; his brother Jimmy Boone (Debbie) of Tuscaloosa, AL; his sister-in-law Cecelia Boone of Minneapolis, MN; his uncle Dwain Simpson (Ann) of Diamondhead, MS; and his grandchildren, Addison and Brett Boone. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to American Cancer Society, or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
