She was predeceased by: her husband W. I. "Bill" Beard; her parents, Henry Leslie Mayfield, Jr. and Claudia Hawkins Mayfield; and her siblings, Henry Leslie Mayfield, George C Mayfield and Claudia Mayfield Miles.
She is survived by: her children, William Leslie "Billy" Beard (Madeline) of Madison, MS and Claudia Beard Richards (Brian); and her grandchildren, John Michael Ward, William Ryan Beard (Claire) and Brooke Beard Owen (Chad). She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and many close friends.
