Albert Woulard Obituary

Rev. Albert A. Woulard, 67, of Hattiesburg, passed away on August 15, 2021, in Laurel. He was born on July 7, 1954, to Prince Woullard, Sr. and Emma Woullard in Hattiesburg. He was always considered highly intelligent by his siblings and peers. He was a member of the Blair High School class of 1972. The Class of 1972 was the first fully integrated class in the Hattiesburg Public School system.

Albert had a passion for music and worked as a disc jockey known as "Hit Man" for Mississippi's first African American owned and operated radio station WORV. Enlisted in the US Army at age 18. He worked In the Oilfield for 35 years as a dispatcher and safety manager while living in Plaquemines Parish, LA and Houston TX. Albert along with the rest of his family attended Antioch Baptist Church as a child.

He attended Zion Hill Church while living in Plaquemines Parish. After returning home to Hattiesburg, MS he served as associate minister of Mount Olive Baptist Church. At the time of his untimely death Reverend Woulard was serving as Associate Minister of Shady Grove Baptist Church and employed by Wis Pak. Rev. Woulard is preceded in death by one son, Richard Woullard; his parents; one sister, Connie Sturdivant; two brothers, James Hopkins and Charles Woullard.

Rev. Woulard is survived by wife, Rev. Cathy Ross-Woulard; children: Rosalyn Patrice Woullard, Gia Williamson, Fernando McDougle, Albert Woulard, JR (Jerri) and Lateef Woullard; stepchildren: Rickey Middleton, Arron Middleton (Joanna), and Monica Reggans (Malcolm); goddaughter, Tiera Merrick Smith (Donald);siblings: Prince Woullard II (Stella), Royce Fairley (Lewis), Gloria Wilder (Joe), Eddie Mae Wilson, Chantay Butler, Nollie Joe Woullard, Richard Woullard, Fred Woullard (Carolyn).

He was affectionately known as "POP" to 24 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
