He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Joe Box and Katie Lou Moore Box; and his siblings, Billy Ray Box and Gloria Patterson. He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Barnett (Tj) of Fulton, Angela Atkinson of Guntown and David Box of Pontotoc; his close friend Barbara Hodges; his grandchildren, Jason Atkinson, Brandon Atkinson, Samantha Nix, Ava Nix, David "Max" Barnett and Bryson Box; his great grandchildren, Tommy, Dexter and Luther Atkinson; and his sister Cyndie Green (Alan).
